Senior Manager - Private Cloud SRE

We are seeking a Senior Manager to help lead the transformation of our VMware private cloud environment from a legacy, ticket-driven operations environment to a modern, SRE-inspired private cloud. This job will test both your engineering skills and your management capabilities. Success will create both a better experience for our Development customers, and a better quality of life for the engineers on the team.

Core Responsibilities

- Work with a team of senior engineers to build a roadmap for self-service, automated consumption of VMware services, based on a combination of VMware products and custom code.

- Automate configuration management to increase consistency of existing environments and rapid deployment of new capacity.

- Automate gathering of fine-grained metrics for performance and availability, as well as aggregation and visualization of data for capacity planning, SLA tracking, and operational awareness.

- Grow and mentor team members to help them define and pursue their career path of choice.

- Retain senior-level technical expertise in relevant areas; although it is expected that you will not always be the most experienced technologist on the team or in every area you should be able to contribute by pitching in on the team s work

- Work with your peers across the Cloud team to define strategic goals and align on a pat the achieve them.

- Influence cultural changes based on strategic initiatives

Preferred Qualifications

- 2+ years managing an engineering staff

- Familiarity with scripting/development languages (e. g. Python, Ruby, Java, etc.)

- Expertise in VMware products (e. g. vSphere, vSAN, vCloud, NSX)

- Experience working on projects relating to large-scale, highly available customer-facing products and services.

- Experience with software defined storage and networking solutions.

- 10+ years of experience building and operating infrastructure, services, and/or applications

- Knowledge of modern technical operations practices and tools: source control (Git/Hg/Subversion); continuous integration; automated testing; automated deployments and deployment pipelines

Job Specification:
- Bachelors Degree or Equivalent
- Engineering, Computer Science
- Generally requires 8-11 years related experience

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
