Staff Accountant, Technical Operations

Location: National Accounting Shared Services (NAO) Oaks, PA

Reports to: Accounting Supervisor NAO Technical Operations

Summary

Responsible for monthly close process for assigned areas. Responsibilities include preparation of monthly journal entries and account reconciliations, analysis of monthly operating results, review of financial schedules submitted by field personnel and special projects as requested.

Core Responsibilities:

- Interprets accounting data, analyzes reports and recommends action to be taken.

- Prepares journal entries, maintains ledgers, reconciles and analyzes specific cost account ledgers, various financial statements, records and reports.

- Prepares financial reports analyzing data for management review.

- Ensures the balance sheet accounts are accurately reconciled with supporting documents.

- Enters monthly journal entries to properly record accounting transactions, ensuring that journal entries have proper back up to substantiate the entry.

- Reviews financial statements for operating trends and results.

- Develops automated Oracle routines such as mass allocations and re-occurring journal entries.

- Aptitude to learn and develop enhanced data management skills.

- Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.

- Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work variable schedule(s), including outside of normal business hours, as necessary.

- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Education Level: Bachelor s Degree or Equivalent

Field of Study: Accounting, Finance

Years Experience: Generally requires 2-5 years related experience

Additional Requirements:

- Bachelor s Degree or Certificate in Accounting preferred or Finance Degree along with equivalent accounting work experience.

- CPA or progress towards it a plus.

- Minimum of 2 years of experience in industry and/or public accounting or similar work environment.

- Strong analytical skills.

- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Word, and Outlook)
- Experience with Oracle a plus

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
